MEASUREMENT GUIDE

How to Measure the Windows for Roman Shades?

After picking the style of Roman Shades you want to decide on how to Mount the Roman Shades in your Window. There are two options to mount them depending on the depth of the window.

We recommend using a steel tape measure for accuracy.

INSIDE MOUNT

Inside mounted shades are mounted inside the window casing and do not cover the window molding. You need minimum of 1.5’’ depth for this mounting option.

Measuring the width: For width, measure the window horizontally at 3 places ( Top, Middle and Bottom) from left to right as shown in the picture. Use the smallest measurement of the three widths to the nearest 1/8’’. That is the width you will need to order for your window.

Measuring the Height : For Length, measure the window vertically at 3 places from top to bottom (sill of the window) starting from left to right as shown in the picture. Use the longest height of the three measurement to the nearest 1/8’’. That is the height you will need to order for your window.

OUTSIDE MOUNT

Outside mounted shades are mounted to the wall, ceiling or molding around the window. You should opt for outside mount option when you don’t have enough depth or have some obstructions that may get in the way for inside mount , window is uneven shaped and if you prefer the window trim to show not at all.

Measuring the Width: For width, measure the window horizontally from left to right . To avoid light seepage or extra privacy and light control we recommend adding 2’’-3’’ on each side of the window. The width you give us would be the window width you would like to cover.

Measuring the Height: For Length, measure the window vertically from top to bottom that you want to cover including any extra overlap to avoid light seepage. That is the window height you would like to cover.

Note: We will not take any size deductions or additions. The shade will be made to the exact size you
